This comes hours after the chief of the BJP’s Telangana unit, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, demanded that the state government officially celebrate ‘Telangana Liberation Day’ on September 17, the day when the erstwhile Hyderabad state, under the Nizam’s rule, merged with the Indian Union in 1948. “The government of India has announced that September 17 be celebrated as Liberation Day.
