| Video Discription | The #nationalsafetyday (#nsd) is celebrated every year on 4 March to commemorate the establishment of this event and to enhance the #safetyawareness among people. This year i.e. in 2023 we are celebrating 52nd National Safety Day/Week with the #theme “Our Aim - #zeroharm”. The aim of “zero harm” in #safety is to create a world where all #workers can return home safely at the end of each day. To achieve the aim of “zero harm”, it is important for organizations to have a strong #safetyculture in which safety is given the highest priority. This year's National Safety Day is aimed at renewing the commitment of employees and the general public to work safely throughout the year. The objective of the National Safety Day Campaign is to help industries and other organizations to promote Safety, #goodhealth and Well-being and move towards achieving a zero harm status for the organization. We appeal all Health, Safety and Environmental professionals across India to adopt the theme, encourage all their employees to enthusiastically observe the National Safety Day and take all necessary measures towards achieving the aim-Zero Harm. #nationalsafetyday Pledge (English) “On this day, I solemnly affirm that I will rededicate myself to the cause of safety, health and protection of environment and will do my best to observe rules, regulations and procedures and develop attitudes and habits conductive for achieving these objectives. I full realize that accidents and diseases are a drain on the national economy and may lead to disablements, deaths, harm to health and damage to property, social suffering and general degradation of environment. I will do everything possible for the prevention of accidents and occupational diseases and protection of environment in the interest of self, family, community, organization and the nation at large.” Purpose of National Safety Day Theme 2023 The aim of “zero harm” in safety is to create a world where all workers can return home safely at the end of each day. This goal is becoming increasingly important as the number of workplace accidents and injuries continues to rise. One of the key ways that the aim of “zero harm” aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is through SDG 3, which is to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all. By creating safe and healthy work environments, the aim of “zero harm” helps to achieve this goal by reducing the number of accidents and injuries in the workplace. To achieve the aim of “zero harm”, it is important for companies to have a strong safety culture in which safety is given the highest priority. This requires a commitment from employers, workers, and safety professionals to work together to create safe and healthy work environments. The aim of “zero harm” in safety is a crucial step towards achieving the SDGs, particularly SDG 3.
