NBC Universal was formed on 11th May 2004 by the merger of NBC (General Electric) and the entertainment division of Vivendi Universal Entertainment. A day later, Universal Television (1962-2004, 2011-present), NBC Studios (1947-2004) and NBC Enterprises (c.1979-2004) were merged into NBCUniversal.
