Negotiations are in the final stages after he emerged as the preferred candidate. He has been on a short list that also included the likes of Graham Potter. Cooper has been out of work since being sacked by Nottingham Forest last December. Leicester carried out a thorough process of due diligence and spoke to a number of potential candidates. Graham Potter was one of those and was seriously considered for the position, but there were a number of issues on either side which meant that talks could not progress. Cooper became the clear preferred candidate, and an agreement has now been reached.
