During the year-end presentation, Nidhi was asked a question - When was the last time you wanted to go to the office? She honestly replied that 'it was never.' It was also the moment when Nidhi realized what she wanted to do with her life. She later completed a one-year course in Fashion Buying and Merchandising at the Polimoda Fashion School in Italy. She did an internship at the Italian fashion brand Emilio Pucci. Although Nidhi got a job at the famous fashion brand Gucci, she returned to India to stay with her family. AKS, a women's initiative in Gurugram In 2014, Nidhi launched the AKS, an ethnic clothing brand for women in Gurugram. AKS means reflection. The clothing brand, which started with a capital of Rs 3.5 lakh, later achieved a turnover of Rs 137 crore. AKS targets women between the ages of 18 and 35. Kurta, anarkali, maxi dress, lehenga and traditional suits are the products. Every two weeks, the brand would release 15-29 new clothing styles. Something that no other brand did. Nidhi says the designs that are once sold will not be remade. The fabrics are imported from Surat, Ahmedabad and Jodhpur. The 50% of production is in Delhi and the remaining 50% is in Jaipur. Currently, the company has printing, dyeing, stitching and manufacturing units in Jaipur. The company is moving its warehouse to Delhi.
