| Video Discription | The Czech Republic Police released the first visuals of Nikhil Gupta, an Indian national accused of being involved in a murder-for-hire plot against Sikh extremist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun on American soil, being extradited to the United States. Nikhil Gupta was extradited to the US after his arrest in Prague on June 30, 2023. Nikhil Gupta was detained at the Prague airport under extradition orders issued by the US Justice Department. The US Justice Department said Nikhil Gupta was involved in a plot to assassinate Khalistani separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun in New York. Gupta was produced before a federal court in New York, where he pleaded not guilty. Gupta is charged with murder-for-hire and conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison for each charge. Gurpatwant Pannun holds dual American and Canadian citizenship. Pannun is a "vocal critic of the Indian government and leads a US-based organisation that advocates for the secession of Punjab”.
