| Video Discription | On Monday, Indian equity markets witnessed their biggest intraday fall in nearly seven months on Monday (November 22) with the BSE Sensex falling as much as 1,625 points in intraday trade before closing the day 1.96% or 1,170.12 points lower at 58,465.89. NSE benchmark Nifty50 index settled the day 1.96% or 348.25 points lower at 17,416.55 after making an intraday low of 17,280.45. The market selloff wiped out over Rs 8 lakh crore of investors' wealth. ET NOW’s managing editor Nikunj Dalmia analyses the factors behind the fall. He says, “Paytm listing has been nothing short of a disaster, with the stock down over 36% in last 2 days. This might be an indication that IPO frenzy has come to a grinding halt. With India’s biggest IPO turning out to be such a disappointment, there was a sea of red in fintech stocks on Monday – be it Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, NBFCs or other banking stocks.” “Moreover, Nifty saw a sizeable correction after Reliance went down over 4% on the back of the company re-evaluating its O2C business with Aramco. And, the third factor for the fall is the repeal of Farm Laws. Till now, India was seeing strong reforms with divestment of Air India being a strong example.
