| Video Discription | All bags of fertilizer disclose the N-P-K ratios in clear numbers, usually front and center. Funny thing is though that most bags of fertilizer do not provide all of the macro-nutrients that your lawn needs in the proportions that they are needed. Most fertilizers are heavy in Nitrogen and light in both Phosphorus and Potassium however starter fertilizers tend to be very heavy in Phosphorus while many specialty fertilizers sometimes contain lots of Potassium without any of the other macro-nutrients. In this video I dive into the relationship between NP & K and explain how they are used up by the grass plants and how they are stored in the soil. If you are going to be fertilizing your lawn this year then understanding these important yet somewhat complicated concepts can really give you an edge on product selection and application rates.
