Launched between the immensely successful Pascal and revolutionary (if controversial) Turing architectures, the only Volta that made it to the attention of consumers was the $3000 Titan V. The Titan V wasn’t intended as a gaming product, though considering Nvidia’s own mixed messaging on the Titans of the past it’s no surprise that there would have been some confusion, and with the benefit of hindsight and a hefty drop in asking price on the used market, it’s possible that the V will find a new audience among AI & ML enthusiasts. Meanwhile, those of us who looked admiringly at these lottery-win graphics cards from afar back in 2017, we wonder what might have been, if only we’d been able to afford a Titan V for our gaming rigs - and those of us with less nostalgia can laugh at how far the mighty Titan has fallen in the last 7 years.
