Following a vote on the recommendation of the next police chief by the city manager the name will be announced. By March Singletary pledged to stay on the job until his replacement could be found. Earlier this week a committee made up of community leaders held a private Q & A with each of the four candidates followed by a bus tour of the city and then a public meet and greet with residents. There was a large turnout of residents and quite a few Beaumont Police officers and the meet and greet at the Downtown Event Centre.
