| Video Discription | In this video I show you how to make egg in a pancake hole. A fried egg cooked into the center of a golden brown and fluffy pancake then drizzled with warm maple syrup. A creative breakfast dish that's easy to make in minutes. Shopping List: Pancake mix like Bisquick or from scratch. Scratch Recipe: 1 cup all purpose flour 2 tsp. sugar 2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. kosher salt or 1/2 tsp. table salt 1 cup milk 1 egg 1 tbsp. canola or vegetable 2 tbsp. melted butter 1 egg Maple syrup Directions: If using packaged mix, prep according to packaged directions. If making from scratch, add the dry ingredients to a bowl. In a separate bowl, add the wet ingredients then add to the dry ingredients. Mix but don't over mic. Some small lumps is okay. Pre-heat your cast iron or non-stick skillet over medium low heat and wait for it to heat up (roughly 5-7 minutes then add increments of 1/4 cups of the batter. Cook about 2 or so minutes or until the small bubbles that appear on the top start to pop and create holes. This is time to flip unless some of those holes still have visible wet batter. In that case cook about 30-45 seconds more then flip. Immediate use a glass or round cookie cutter to form a hole in the center of the pancake. Crack an egg and pour into the hole carefully so as to not break the yolk. Cover and cook until the egg whites are done and the yolk starts to glaze over. Remove from the skillet and serve with maple syrup. TIP: if making many servings place them in a pre-heated 200 degree oven to keep warm until ready to serve.
