| Video Discription | New Delhi/Rajkot, Jan 04 (ANI): Security was intensified across New Delhi as the police and the paramilitary forces battled to secure the Indian Air Force base in Punjab in an operation that entered its third day today. In the national capital, Joint Commissioner of Police Mukesh Kumar Meena said security checks were carried out on roads and vehicular movements were monitored. Police personnel were deployed at different locations including markets, railways stations and bus stops in New Delhi. In New Delhi, two trains were delayed early on Sunday amid heightened security concerns after officials received information about a possible bomb threat on a train running between the capital and northern city of Lucknow, railways spokesman Neeraj Sharma said. However, trains were deemed safe and running on schedule by mid-morning. Meanwhile, in Rajkot city a joint mock drill was conducted by police and paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) to stay prepared to combat militant attacks. Some 29 hours after gunmen entered the Base firing indiscriminately, confusion reigned over whether two or more militants were still at large. So far, seven defence personnel have been martyred. |
