Sean Payton has dialed up both these concepts at separate times and then has found a way to combine the two plays into one for some really good results. The New Orleans Saints offense might not be as exciting as we're used to, but Michael Thomas will soon be back and the plays are there to be made. They're averaging over 30 points per game and by using Dagger and Y-Cross -- which both utilize a deep dig route to target the middle of the field -- they've found a reliable way for the offense to get big yardage. Even if they don't attack the deep middle, they're able to stress defenses verticaly and leave space for Kamara underneath. The Brees and Payton duo isn't done yet and the Saints still have all the tools to make a deep run in the playoffs this year.
