| Video Discription | Personal Choices has been awarded the 'Inspire Mark' and forms part of the official London 2012 Cultural Olympiad. The project provided young people with an opportunity to develop their creativity in the production of short films and also learn creative and key technical skills relating to the film production process. It gives young people an insight into an industry that they would not have otherwise had the opportunity to consider. The young people will benefit from having their work showcased at a wide range of high quality venues around the city and county. It will also provide the young people with new skills and help build their confidence. Two 'Making Of' films have also been made as a record of the project experience. Phoenix Square Digital Media Centre in Leicester was commissioned to work with two groups of young people to each develop and produce a short film on the theme of "Personal Choices". The two groups that took part in the project were the Earl Shilton Church Lads and Church Girls Brigade from Earl Shilton in Leicestershire, and the Contact Project, a youth group from St Matthew's in Leicester. Film Synopsis: The Making of Knocked Out Muji has just left prison for assault while taking part in a street fight. Upon leaving he can't find a job and although he is offered the chance to box in the ring he can't see past the lack of food in the house. Will he stay on the straight and narrow or go back to street fighting to pay the bills. |
