| Video Discription | As part of the Therapy of Unique Canine Helpers (TOUCH) program, volunteers bring dogs certifed by Support Dogs Inc. to visit cancer patients and family members at the Siteman Cancer Center. The dogs are certified for therapy work at hospitals and other health care centers. They range in size from teacup breeds to great danes. They walk through the chemotherapy unit of the center, where patients and staff are allowed to pet them. This type of "touch" therapy has proven to relieve stress and bring calm and positive feelings to those who participate. |
