| Video Discription | I was so keen on completing my goal of running a marathon or longer distance in all 50 States by the end of this year that I almost forgot about qualifying for the Vermont 100, which is coming soon in July! Although I was selected to run this year's Vermont 100 through the lottery system, all 100-mile participants much qualify for the race by running a 50-mile race under 12 hours or a 100 km race under 16 hours. I decided to run the 100 km trail race at Pineland Farms as my qualification race because I previously ran the Pineland Farms 50 Mile Trail Challenge twice, finishing under 11 hours on both occasions. My experience with the course gave me some confidence going in, but I was still concerned if I had recovered from the Prairie Series challenge a week ago. You can check out the video here: https://youtu.be/6gdUg9L_ijkf Under the new management, 40 Back Events, the Pineland Farms 100 km course is a slightly updated 14.9-mile loop or 25K, so runners will need to complete 4 laps. I ran conservatively in the first two loops as I was feeling my legs, which were still sore from the Prairie Series. Going into the 3rd lap, I felt great and energetic so I pushed hard on the course and ran my fastest lap. It was, of course, a big mistake as I ended up bonking in the last lap and right Achilles was acting up again. I somehow managed to complete the 100 km in just under 13 hours and I was happy with my effort. Vermont 100, here I come!
