The bulk deal is worth up to $46.25 million. American Lease, which leases EVs for ride-hailing services, will buy around 3,200 unsold Oceans. Fisker plans to deliver 1,000 Oceans by Friday, generating $14 million, and another 500 next week for $6.7 million. Fisker, founded in 2016, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in June after producing around 11,000 Oceans. The sale aims to secure cash for basic operations. The U.S. Trustee initially opposed the sale, citing rushed proceedings and low pricing, but Judge Brendan L. Shannon approved it after Fisker addressed concerns. American Lease will pay $16,500 for new Oceans in good condition, $2,500 for damaged ones, and $3,200 for previously titled vehicles. Existing Fisker customers worry about future parts and service availability. The deal includes provisions for service information, software updates, and recall remedies. |
