| Video Discription | Government of India has approved Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Automobile & Auto components industry for enhancing India’s manufacturing capabilities of advanced technology products like Electric Vehicles, Hydrogen Fuel Cell vehicles, Connected, Shared and Autonomous vehicles. Overcoming cost disabilities for Advanced Automotive Technology supply chain, the scheme will incentivize the Indian Automotive sector to move up the value chain and enhance India’s share in global automotive trade. Incentives worth ₹ 25,938 crore will be provided to auto industry over five years. The scheme for auto sector will bring fresh investments of over ₹ 42,500 crore in five years and incremental production of over ₹ 2.3 lakh crore. It will also help create additional employment opportunities over 7.5 lakh. This PLI Scheme for automotive sector along with already launched schemes for Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) and FAME will give a big boost to manufacture of Electric Vehicles. It will enable India to leapfrog to environmentally cleaner, advanced and more efficient Electric Vehicles based system and provide sustainable and affordable electric mobility solutions to the citizens. |
