| Video Discription | It is widely believed that political power leads to economic salvation. However, this belief is a myth and there is no correlation between political power and economic emancipation. The Black community has obsessed itself with political representation, by preaching the belief that a Black political leader will curb Black problems. The data, extracted from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the U.S. Census Bureau, show that there is absolutely no correlation between having a Black political leader and the alleviation of poverty in the Black community. The contrary is, in fact, proven. Black political leaders become wealthier once they enter political office while the Black population which votes for them has either a stagnant or declined income. What the Black community needs, is not more political leaders, but more leaders who will incentivize Black people to create capital in order to have an economic power-base. What prevents the Black community to thrive is its own leaders. Once again, the problem of the Black community is primarily endogenous. |
