| Video Discription | In this picture this is the normal ovary, wherein you have follicles growing and rupturing to release the egg. Follicle is nothing but a water filled bleb. In Polycystic ovaries there are multiple of these water filled blebs and they don’t grow beyond one particular stage. They all remain at 6 to 7 mm itself. Normally one of the follicles will dominate to grow and route to release the egg. In Polycystic ovaries that is not happening. That means most of the cycles in the Polycystic ovaries will be anovulatory, that is they will not be releasing the egg on their own. This is the ultrasound picture where you see water filled bleb and because of that it causes a lot of hormonal imbalances in the lady. Because of the hormonal imbalances caused y Polycystic ovaries. In the immediate cause it may cause irregular periods, like women cod get periods in 35 to 45 days, sometimes 2 to 3 months or sometimes they will be getting it every 10 days 20 days, very frequent periods or very delayed periods. With respect to the amount of fluid it can be very scanty or very heavy flow and they may have mood disturbances, especially depression and swings and it will be easy for them to put on weight. So most of the ladies of Polycystic ovaries to but on weight and very difficult to loose weight. They can have pimples on the face and excessive hair growth, male pattern hair growth on the chin and on the body. These are the women who are more prone to diabetes, hypertension, and obesity and associated with the cancers of the uterus. Basically Polycystic ovaries is a lifestyle disease like diabetes and hypertension. If you can keep your weight under check then Polycystic ovaries can be made silent. |
