Hindu law consists of all the activities and the crystallized practices that people have been following from time to time and therefore, making them customs. The foremost question is which among these customs are considered as our modern Hindu laws. Our modern Hindu Laws are based on ancient sources like shrutis, smritis, digest and commentaries, customs and usages and on modern sources like legislations, equity and good conscience, judicial decisions.
