(This is on PS4, loading times are long)
This is not the fastest kill, but I haven't seen many sorcery builds few-shotting Radahn.
And since I like to play with sorceries, here is a relatively simple build at a "low" soul level.
NG, RL 150, Blessing 20 / 10
Stats 9 / 22 / 9 / 8 / 12 / 80 / 80 / 9
If you activate Godrick's Great Rune, RL 135 works too.
(In the video I am at RL 190, no Godrick's Great Rune, and I put 40 points on STR that are useless for this build).
- Weapons: Prince of Death's Staff +25, Staff of the Guilty ⇔ Staff of Loss, any seal
- Armor (head): Black Dumpling ⇔ Mushroom Crown ⇔ White Mask
- Armor (body, hands, legs): Alberich's Set
- Talismans: Magic Scorpion Charm, Kindred of Rot's Exultation ⇔ Red-Feathered Branchsword, Old Lord's Talisman ⇔ Beloved Stardust, Aged One's Exultation ⇔ Lord of Blood's Exultation
- Spells: Golden Vow, Blessing of the Erdtree, Terra Magica, Midra's Flame of Frenzy, Howl of Shabriri, Carian Phalanx, Impenetrable Thorns, Night Comet
- Tears: Bloodsucking Cracked Tear, Magic-Shrouding Cracked Tear
Prep:
- Golden Vow and Blessing of the Erdtree
- Flask of Cerulean Tears
- Howl of Shabriri
- Midra's Flame of Frenzy (proc madness but don't trigger it)
- Flask of Cerulean Tears
- Flask of Wondrous Physick
- Terra Magica (in front of the mist, a bit to the left)
- Midra's Flame of Frenzy (trigger madness)
- Flask of Cerulean Tears
- Black Dumpling ⇔ Mushroom Crown
- Raw Meat Dumpling
- Mushroom Crown ⇔ White Mask
- Kindred of Rot's Exultation ⇔ Red-Feathered Branchsword
- Old Lord's Talisman ⇔ Beloved Stardust
- Aged One's Exultation ⇔ Lord of Blood's Exultation
- Be sure to hold the Prince of Death's Staff +25 and the Staff of the Guilty, then enter the arena
Fight:
- Carian Phalanx and dodge the first dive attack rolling back/left, in order to land on Terra Magica
- You'll always have enough time to cast and dodge thanks to Beloved Stardust
- After the dodge, cast Impenetrable Thorns to immediately trigger the second phase (again, you'll always have enough time to cast it thanks to Beloved Stardust)
- Swap Staff of the Guilty ⇔ Staff of Loss and finish Radahn with 4 Night Comets
- You'll always die, either because of Bloodsucking Cracked Tear HP drain, or because the beam attack still lands even after Radahn's death (or maybe you can dodge it?)
Note that Impenetrable Thorns MAY also make Radahn bleed, triggering more buffs for the second phase. If that happens, Night Comet will deal 9100 damage (instead of 6900) and you'll need only 3 of them (you'll still die from the Light of Miquella attack).
I couldn't find a reliable way to cause bleeding with Impenetrable Thorns, probably because it's a multi-hit spell and the second phase is triggered before bleeding happens. When casted, it spawns 3 "branches", each hitting multiple times. Depending on how Radahn moves, the number of hits varies.
Anyway, thanks to Carian Phalanx you should always be able to deal at least 22000 damage in the first phase, and should still always have time to cast 4 Night Comets in the second phase. This is more than enough to kill Radahn.
The only failure cases are 1) Radahn wastes time at the beginning of the fight (and your buff wears off), and 2) he doesn't cast Light of Miquella at the beginning of the second phase.
Luckily, these scenarios are rare, and this strategy works ~80% of the time.
The hardest part is probably learning to quickly buff prep and swap equipment, but it's easier than it seems. If you find it hard to navigate through the items, leave all unnecessary helms and talismans in the storage chest.
Final notes:
- If your VIG is higher than 12 (for example because you started as Vagabond or because you activated Godrick's Great Rune) you may have to play around the buff sequence to be sure to be in the range 0-20% HP to trigger the Red-Feathered Talisman buff. The key is that the Bloodsucking Cracked Tear drains 20+ HP/s (depends on your max HP), poison 7 HP/s, and Blessing of the Erdtree restores 12 HP/s. Therefore, the order of the buffs is very important. For example, if you use the Flask of Wondrous Physick too soon you'll die because of the HP drain.
- If you don't have Midra's Flame of Frenzy, use a Frenzyflame Stone (if you are NOT a Lord of Frenzied Flame, otherwise it doesn't build madness), or use Unendurable Frenzy (you'll have to play with the buff sequence). |
