Starsky’s autonomous truck drove for 9.4 miles along Florida’s Turnpike with no human onboard, successfully navigating a rest area, merging onto the highway, changing lanes, and maintaining a speed of 55 mph. While Starsky’s trucks are 100% autonomous for the bulk of the trip, human remote drivers help them in the most contextually complex environments, such as parking lots, distribution centers and rest areas. |
