STORYLINE: On February 5th 2014 the official Olympic medals arrived in the Russian resort town of Sochi, ahead of the start of the Winter Games. All 1,254 medals were made by the Moscow-based Adamas jewelry company and designed in metal and glass. Mountain Olympic Village mayor and Olympic champion, Svetlana Zhurova, on Wednesday said the medals are "beautiful, they are wonderful, and they are very much our own." 3,500 athletes will compete for the Sochi 2014 Olympic and Paralympic medals.
