A critic of Mahatma Gandhi as well as socialism, Rajneeth, or Osho as he was widely known, preached the need for simultaneous consideration of internal and external riches, claimed sexual liberation was paramount to mindfulness and created several expansive luxury communes to broaden and develop the study of such ideas. The guru didn't, however, stop there- his attempts to spread the cult into American society drew heavy criticism after senior officials within the movement attempted mass Salmanella poisoning with the hope of influencing elections. Such incidents haven't stopped the crowds from coming though- the movement has gained popularity even since his death in 1990. In this short documentary, we take a tour of Osho's place of rest and commune and talk to just some of the disciples form around the world who have found faith in the guru's teachings. |
