| Video Discription | Baglihar Hydroelectric Power Project, is a run- of-the-river power project on the Chenab River in the Ramban District. The work on Baglihar Hydro Electric Power Project started in 1999. The Project stands completed and it consists of two stages 450 MW each and is producing 900 MW of Eco-friendly Power at present. The average income of the project is Rs. 1700 crores per annum. The Project has been completed by Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Corporation and therefore 100% of its revenue through generation of electricity is utilised by J&K. Apart from being one of the most efficient power projects, the Baglihar Dam together with its reservoir provides scenic views and has potential to be made into a tourist destination. |
