Rebecca Joynes, 30, groomed one boy with a shopping trip to the Trafford Centre before taking him back to her apartment and having sex with him when he was 15. She then fell pregnant with another teenage pupil. Joynes met the two boys through her job as a teacher at a Greater Manchester school. She has previously been sacked. The school cannot be named for legal reasons. Her lawyer said Joynes had ‘let herself and her family down’, but she denied all the offences. But a jury found her guilty on all charges in unanimous verdicts they returned today (17 May). Joynes, of Pensby Road, Wirral, was convicted of four counts of sexual activity with a child, and two counts of sexual activity with a child by a person in a position of trust She will be sentenced on July 4.
