However, unrequited love is a story that never gets old. ‘Waari Waari’ tells the tale of a common young lady in love with someone who can never be hers. Drawing references to Indian mythology, this young lady is just another Gopi, madly in love with Lord Krishna. She is no Radha, nor is she Meera. This sombre tone is the premise of the song ‘Waari Waari’. ‘Waari Waari’, being the first single of Reeshabh Purohit’s upcoming debut album ‘Hasrat’ is a unique fusion ballad that blends Indian Classical Music with contemporary elements to create a sound that is both traditional and modern. The song brings together a talented team of musicians, artists and producers. Reeshabh Purohit, a student at Berklee College of Music, combines his 14 years of Hindustani Classical Music training with his study of contemporary music at Berklee to create the song. Award winning flautist Shadaj Godkhindi adds a beautiful and soulful touch to the song with his mellifluous bansuri solo. The bansuri, being a symbol of Lord Krishna is an obvious addition to the song. Nisha Satpute's lyrics are emotionally charged and bring out the raw emotions of the protagonist. The lyrics have a touch of ‘Braj bhasha’, further conveying the mythological reference in the song. The song is produced by Atharv Joshi, and mixed by Berklee graduate Nandini Samanta, ensuring that the sound quality is impeccable. Reeshabh Purohit's vocals are haunting and full of depth, conveying the pain of this young Gopi.
