He fought against mughal emperor Aurangzeb very bravely. He fought 120 battles and all of them he won. Aurangzeb caught him by swindle. Tortured him physically cruelly for 40 days and asked him to convert into muslim religion if he wants to stay alive. But he strongly denied to do so. And he killed Sambhajiraje. After Sambhaji Maharaj 's death Mughal exploited the royal wealth on Raigad and detained his family along with Prince Shahumaharaj and took them to Delhi . After Aurangzeb 's death Shahumaharaj was released and he came back . From there the Akkalkot Princely State 's story starts which is very interesting . It's all about it's glory, bravery and tragedy. All of the kings in this royal family lived short span life.. in very young age they died. Akkalkot Swami Samarth Maharaj stayed in Akkalkot between 1850-1870. Chhatrapati Sambhaji ( छत्रपती संभाजी महाराज ) and Fatehsinh Maharaj (फतेहसिंह महाराज ) first and second are the highlights of the story of Akkalkot Sansthan ( अक्कलकोट संस्थान ) tragedy story.
