Speaking during the 45th "SAARC Finance" Governors’ Meeting and Symposium, Wickremesinghe underscored the significance of the financial aid, which amounted to 3.5 billion USD from India and 200 million USD from Bangladesh and called both ‘life saviors’. He said many did not expect Sri Lanka to come out of the crisis so quickly.
