| Video Discription | A workshop for educators: The Nature Connection Humans have lived in harmony with nature for generations, yet in recent years our lifestyles have resulted in biodiversity devastation, climate crises and zoonotic diseases such as Covid-19. Discover why now, more than ever before, reconnecting students with nature can enable educators to play a key role as solutions providers not only to help heal the planet, but also to enhance student physical and mental health, and even academic performance. The Sanctuary Nature Foundation’s Kids for Tigers team, that uses the tiger as a metaphor for all of nature, will lead this unique session, with a particular focus on urban biodiversity and tips for home and classroom projects to keep nature deficit disorder at bay. Nandita Jhaveri & Soniya Lalla (Resonances) are hosting a free video conference that focuses on honoring our bond with nature. Our guest speakers: The Sanctuary Nature Foundation will be represented by Miel Sahgal, a writer and editor who has spent over two decades with Sanctuary Magazine, Preeti Takle, an environmental educationist, teacher trainer and urban organic farmer, and Amandeep Kaur Bamrah a wildlife and nature educator and National Coordinator for Kids for Tigers. |
