This includes a significant number of parliamentarians of Indian heritage likely to be elected. According to the British Future think tank, the Labour Party is expected to have the largest number of ethnic minority MPs if they win a majority. This number could be even higher if they win by a large margin. A record number of over 100 people of South Asian descent are running in the UK general elections on July 4. In 2019, 63 British Indians ran, with 15 winning seats in the House of Commons. Many of these candidates have built successful careers in Britain, including bankers, lawyers, and doctors. The South Asian community in the UK has been steadily growing, making up a significant portion of the population.
