That's right. 161-billion U.S.-dollars That's the amount of profits that Saudi Arabia's Aramco made last year. The earnings mark a 46-point-5-percent increase compared to 2021. The profit surge comes on the back soaring energy prices since the start of the war in Ukraine and an increase in sales volume for the company. It is also the highest ever annual profit by a publicly listed company. But the announcement has drawn criticism from climate activists concerned over accelerating climate change caused by fossil fuel use.
