| Video Discription | This is the fifth webinar of the series co-organized by YESS and the High Impact Weather (HIW) project. Receiving, understanding and using warnings is essential to reduce weather-related risks. However, weather forecasts and warnings are uncertain and as such frequently not properly understood. Involving citizens in atmospheric measurements and observations of weather impacts trains them to relate atmospheric data given in numbers (e.g. from forecasts) to weather impacts. In the frame of our projects, pupils assemble their own weather station and set it up near them. Accompanied by forecast-related education this can help to improve their understanding of weather forecasts and in turn lead to more effective warnings.
