| Video Discription | Secretariat ‘Big Red’ won the Triple Crown on June 9th, 1973. 50 Years later several racing insiders share their stories of how this historic Monster of a racehorse forever affected their lives. Each person experienced an extraordinary time in our lives that will never be forgotten. Many Thanks to HOF Jockeys Ron Turcotte, Eddie Maple, Laffit Pincay Jr, Jorge Velasquez, Jacinto Vasquez, Braulio Baeza, Angel Cordero Jr, and Sandy Hawley; Jockey Agent Vince DeGregory; Trainer Steve Jerkens on behalf of HOF Trainer Allen Jerkens; Trainers Carlos Martin and Gary Contessa on behalf of HOF Trainer Frank ‘Pancho’ Martin; Legendary Racing Broadcasters Charlsie Cantey, Dave Johnson, and Tom Durkin; and others who assisted with this production. In the early 70s, I had the unique opportunity to assist Dr. Mark Gerard at Belmont Park, as he worked on many of that era’s greatest racehorses. The most memorable experience was meeting the GOAT ‘Secretariat’. Of equal importance was recording the memories of many of the supporting cast from that time.
