| Video Discription | Just as Bobby Taylor And The Vancouvers were enjoying some success at Motown, the move to break Bobby Taylor away from the group and feature him as a solo singer was underway in 1970. While it didn't really pan out the way Taylor envisioned, he did record a fair amount of songs as a solo but only a handful were released. One of the songs that lay in the can until it was included on a 2006 cd compiliation of Bobby Taylor And The Vancouvers career was this 1970 recording, titled, Serve Yourself A Cup Of Happiness, featuring Taylor as a solo. It was written by William Weatherspoon, James Dean, and Vernon Bullock, a Motown songwriting team that wrote a ton of material for a lot of the artists who would be considered second tier acts on the label during the late 1960's and early 1970's. |
