And the LOST PLACE and GHOST TOWN CRACO is a must see place, hidden in the lonley countryside of Basilicata. And here in the Basilicata is one of the many highlights of Italy waiting. One of the oldest cities in the world: MATERA. Every stone breathes history, the city is inhabited for thousands of years and the spectacular scenery is just fantastic. The town is just a dream. You feel like you've stepped back in time. No wonder many films were shot here and the city was a filmset for many historical films. But there is another highlight hidden here in the Basilicata region! CRACO is a LOST PLACE in south Italy. And we want to visit this GHOST TOWN today. Craco was not spared of tragedies and residents abandoned Craco and left it to decay... Craco is a mystical place with a very special atmosphere. Since over 40 years the town is completely abandoned and left to decay. This lost place is really a special place, the walls are crumbling and nature has taken over Craco. Trees and bushes grow out of the houses.
