Their first razor offering is a single edge, injector style razor known as the Single Edge 2.0. Using his prowess as an “engineer on the most advanced military fighter jet in the world”, Patrick focused on creating a razor that is both effective at slicing whiskers without irritation but that is also durable and aesthetically pleasing. The company offers a 100-day trial for all users to see the results for themselves, risk free. The razor retails for USD $79.00 and customers can purchase separate bottom caps to enhance the blade exposure and tailor the experience to their preferences. The Single Edge 2.0 comes with the “classic shave” bottom cap, the middle setting for this razor. Users can customize their shave by purchasing two other bottom caps; “sensitive shave” and “aggressive shave”. It is offered in four (4) finishes; classic matte, mirror polish, matte black and jet black. It utilizes injector style blades which last quite a bit longer than modern DE blades, due to the thicker, more rigid cutting edge. The razor is made of aerospace grade stainless steel. The assembly weighs 106g and is 110 mm tall. I took some time to re-learn shaving with an injector style, as it has been years since I’d used one. This razor shaves very similar to the vintage injector razors. The angle of this razor is not like a DE, in that the top cap must be nearly parallel with the cutting surface. Users of single edge razors will be familiar with this as it is a common trait among vintage single edge razors both injector type and GEM type. The razors weight is all the momentum needed in order to move the razor along. It is well balanced and surprisingly grippy, despite the lack of knurling on the handle. The “classic shave” setting is too mild for my taste, but with three passes does a nice job and left me irritation free. The overall experience with the Single Edge 2.0 has been great. I was happy to revisit single edge type shaving and the quality and comfort of this razor are great. Considering the price point and longevity of single edge injector type blades, I can see where so many prefer this over a DE.
