Today we'll be taking a look at a popular fastening method, the single tab end fastener. Now what sets the single tab end fastener apart from other fasteners, is its single tab, instead of the traditional double tab. Having a single tab makes the fastener perfect for projects using radiused bars or angled bars, where a double tab wouldn't fit. It's available in fractional, metric, and compatible across a wide range of profile series. Now the single tab comes in two parts; you have the bolt, and you have the wing clip. Now one thing you want to keep in mind with the single tab end fastener, is your bars are going to need machined. One with an end tap, and the other with an access hole in it. More information on single tab end fastener machining services can be found in the 80/20 product catalog. Now when it comes to installing the single tab end fastener, you start with your hardware. Take your bolt, and put it through the wing clip. You'll grab your bar with the end tap in it, and hand-tighten it down. Once hand-tightened down, we'll grab our other bar with the access hole in it, and slide it over the end fastener, making sure to line up the access hole over the bolt. We'll grab our wrench, and tighten down firmly. Once tightened we have a strong, secure, hidden connection, good for any clean-looking application.
