Especially in a situation where the main purpose of the gun will be to procure food through hunting on a regular basis. I’ve always had a soft spot for a good, solid, reliable single shot shotgun. They are simplistic, and effective in that simplicity. A single shot shotgun makes a decent choice for a long term survival bug out or SHTF firearm if the primary use for the gun is procuring food. A shotgun is an extremely effective and versatile gun for hunting. Extremely effective on moving small game, but also adaptable with different kinds of ammo for larger game. Hope you enjoy!
