This dress is made with stretch knit fabric so it's easy to get a great fit with without having to sew darts or use a zipper, and I show you step by step how to cut and sew the pieces so you can learn how to make a dress from scratch. This DIY skater dress features a full circle skirt, but you could easily switch it out to a half circle skirt if you don't want it to be as full. This is a great sewing project for beginners who are comfortable using a sewing machine and are ready to learn to make clothes and to start sewing knit fabric. It can help sew the fabric much flatter.
