| Video Discription | Middle of the Road ist eine schottische Popgruppe, die seit den 1970er Jahren in ganz Europa und Lateinamerika erfolgreich ist. Bevor sich ABBA Mitte der 70er Jahre etablierten, waren Middle of the Road mit ihren unverwechselbaren Harmonien und dem Lead-Gesang von Sally Carr der Sound des frühen Europop. Vier ihrer Singles verkauften sich jeweils über eine Million Mal und erhielten eine goldene Schallplatte: "Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep", "Sacramento", "Tweedle Dee, Tweedle Dum" und "Soley Soley". Bis Anfang 1972 hatte die Gruppe über fünf Millionen Platten verkauft. Spotlight war eine Musiksendung für die Jugend, die zwischen 1968 bis 1978 vom österreichischen Rundfunk (ORF) ausgestrahlt wurde. Sie war das Pendant zu Beat Club oder Musikladen in Deutschland. |
