Never Seen It Before... Without a doubt, the moment Booster 11 decelerates and gently kisses the ocean is the best scene we've seen in Starship test flights to date. This is the first time SpaceX has achieved this with a vehicle of such scale. Wow, that's amazing, Nasa scientists are completely shocked by that. Find out everything in today's episode of Techmap. Yeah! Huge Congratulations to Elon and the Fantastic SpaceX team. These amazing things clear the way for Flight 5's launch window early next month as Elon predicted. SpaceX Super Heavy Landing Just Shocked Nasa Scientists! Never Seen It Before... "The next Starship Launch hopefully in about a month." (0:00 - 0:09) To celebrate one of these historic milestones, SpaceX recently showed off footage from another angle of the booster landing in the Gulf of Mexico. It started at around 2-kilometer altitude when Super Heavy was on the threshold of reaching the dense atmosphere. The booster continued to get much lower, then at 1-kilometer altitude, it ignited the engines for a landing burn which helped to slow the booster and orient it nearly perfectly vertically. It was then pretty much just hovering as it gently kissed the ocean. Unfortunately, the video ends right as the booster makes contact with the water so we don’t get a view of its graceful tipping over, and becoming a buoy bobbing in the ocean Anyway, the footage reflects clearly that SpaceX basically managed to catch the Super Heavy by a virtual catch tower.
