| Video Discription | http://www.414wire.com - Milwaukee Independent Media According to Milwaukee Police Department statistics, as of August 16th, Milwaukee's homicide rate for 2011 has reached 52. The number does not tell the stories of the victims of violent crime in Milwaukee, but an organization called WINGS International is attempting to give them voice once again. On August 20th, the organization hosted their annual Urban Peace Rally and Picnic at Lindbergh Park on Nash and 16th street, in the heart of the Arlington Heights Neighborhood of Milwaukee. The rally provided an opportunity for the community of Arlington Heights to join together in the sharing of food and playing of games, but was centered around a much more serious matter, the reading aloud the "Wall of Pain". The wall lists the names of each homicide victim in Milwaukee in the year previous to the event. The interview featured in the video was conducted with Jesse McSwain, the director of WINGS International.
