This game is highly CPU intensive, both with and without Ray Tracing but especially with RT enabled, of course, being an open world game, I was expecting this.
Despite that fact, it is possible to mostly play at 60 FPS or higher with RT enabled, as long as we don’t go too crazy on the RT specific settings, depending on your CPU, some of these settings will be too much for stable 60 FPS.
Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing works and looks great so, if you have GPU power to spare at your favorite resolution of choice, enabling that instead of DLSS will produce a much cleaner image, like you’re actually upgrading to a higher native resolution, basically.
Keyboard and Mouse Controls are very much perfect for this game, but I kinda prefer the feel of the DualSense in this particular game, it’s just how it is, not that I cannot play with M&KB, I can, and I would, if I had to (completed HZD, Days Gone and God of War all in hard difficulties with that control setup), but somehow Spider-Man feels too good on my DualSense to pass the chance to just use it.
All in all, the game is very demanding on the system, at certain levels of settings but…without Ray Tracing the game should be very much quite playable in a large array of PC setups, which according to the extensive official PC requirements table, makes sense.
Ray Tracing settings increase the CPU and GPU requirements a lot, but it’s not the worst performing Open World game at all, it kinda runs quite decently all things considered and the good news is that this game does not suffer any Shader Compilation Stutters, fortunately.
As usual, I hope this can be useful to any of you, and I’ll see you in the next one : )
