| Video Discription | I recorded this video on the afternoon of 9 November 2019. WSDOT has finally enabled the tolling equipment in the tunnel, and drivers must now pay-per-use. About $1/each way during weekends, and more during weekdays. +$2 without a toll transponder (Good to Go pass). This video shows how the tunnel was operating on its first day of tolls. Some corrections: (1) the pylons at the Republican exit were installed by WSDOT, not the City of Seattle. (2) WSDOT was predicting about 30% diversion, not the city (though the city is prepared). (3) the signage was not "brand new" that day, though it was newly uncovered. (4) The "Rainier Tower" is actually the "Rainier Square Tower" (I mix the two up frequently). |
