| Video Discription | Kum Sahana Gopalakrishnan is 12 years old, studying in Class 7, in Mahatma Gandhi Vidhyalaya, T Nagar. She is the daughter of Carnatic Vocalist, Mumbai Shilpa and the grand daughter of Smt. Chella Krishnaswamy, a Thiruppugazh teacher. She had her initial training in Thiruppugazh from her grandmother. Sahana is extremely blessed to learn Thiruppugazh at present from a sincere, passionate and dedicated Guru, Smt Chitra Sridharan for the past 3 months. Smt Chitra Sridharan has been awarded the “ Music Teacher of the year 2020”, in recognition of her contribution to Carnatic Music and Devotional Music imparted to all age groups, perpetuating our Indian Arts and Culture, by Rotary Club of Chennai, Thiruvanmiyur. Sahana has won 1st prize in Thevaram and 2nd prize in Thiruppugazh, both cash prizes in the competition conducted by T V Sundaravalli Trust. She has secured 1st and 2nd prizes in various competitions such as Music, Drawing, Flower Kolam ,etc. in Smt Sumukhi Foundation competitions and has been recognised as multitalented for many consecutive years.
