| Video Discription | Civil servants at Britain's official statistics body are threatening strike action after being asked to return to the office to work at least twice a week. Over 1,000 employees at the Office for National Statistics (ONS) are being surveyed about the possibility of striking after being told to stop working from home full-time. The Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union, leading the effort for strike action, argues that many workers were already coming into the office several days a week, while others took jobs at the ONS because they were promised the option to work from home. Fran Heathcote, general secretary of the PCS said that no solid reasoning has been provided for this swift decision for the change, causing frustration among staff members who now have to quickly adjust their childcare and other arrangements. The union is seeking discussions with ONS management before the strike vote among its members concludes on April 2.
