| Video Discription | Sukumar Sen, an Indian government official who lived from 2 January 1898 to 13 May 1963, held the position of India's first Chief Election Commissioner from 21 March 1950 to 19 December 1958. The first two general elections held in independent India, in 1951–1952 and 1957, were effectively managed and overseen by the Election Commission under his direction.
