This performer of Puerto Rican heritage mixes Afro-Latin, Jazz, Soul, and Funk together with music reminiscent of her ancestors. The music represents both past and present struggle along with the fight for equality, love, and justice all with a defiant voice. Taína Asili’s voice exudes strength of Spirit, filling listeners with the fervor for freedom and inspiring audiences to dance to the rhythm of rebellion. During Taína Asili’s 20-year career of creating music for social change she has toured the U.S., Europe and Canada, and most recently performed at The Women’s March on Washington.
